  • The Dirty, Smelly, Ugly Little Monster

    David Smith

    language (, June 26, 2011)
This is a book to be read aloud to under 5 year olds. I wrote it because I was reading a lot of similar things to my children. It has a message but I chose the theme because I wanted a twist and my children loved monsters and things that were yucky. I wrote it to appeal to the kind of parent or child that enjoys the gruffalo or the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Bucky is a new born-again Christian, trying to live for Jesus on a very secular high school campus. He’s got his eye on Lisa, who doesn’t know a thing about his “rules of the road” for following Jesus. He’d like to get into JV baseball, a rough-and-tumble atmosphere for sure. And his enthusiasm for the kingdom of God has fellow students and teachers saying: “What is it with that guy, anyway?”Book #1, Making Waves at Hampton Beach High, sends Bucky and his best friend to the high-altitude ski slopes of Tahoe where a thrilling but treacherous adventure awaits them.
